The Royal Image breeding program is overseen by an on-site licensed veterinary technician with certification from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the following areas:

  • Equine Reproduction Management and Artificial Insemination
  • Techniques for handling and utilizing transported cooled equine spermatozoa
  • Techniques for handling and utilizing transported frozen equine spermatozoa

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality service from our breeding team!  Each semen collection is thoroughly evaluated before shipment to ensure the highest possible chance of success, and we are happy to provide you or your veterinarian with the specifics of the evaluation and to answer any questions that you might have.

Mare Particulars...

Whether you choose to keep your mare at home in your own stable and have us ship semen to you, or bring your mare to us and have her bred on site at Royal Image Farm, here is some pertinent information you need to know in either case:

For ALL mares to be bred, we require a veterinarian's statement of clean cytology and uterine culture.

For mares coming in to Royal Image Farm to be bred on-site, we also require proof of negative Coggins within 1 year, current on vaccinations for Flu, Rhino, EEE, WEE, tetanus, strangles, and dewormed within 30 days.  The mare must also be halter-broken and free of any dangerous vices, such as kicking, biting, pulling back when tied, etc. No hind shoes will be permitted.  During their stay at Royal Image Farm, all mares will be dewormed and vaccinated for flu/rhino bimonthly at the owners' expense.

We offer both short and long-term mare care.
Short term care is pro-rated on a daily basis at the rate of $10/day dry or $12/day wet.
You may also choose to board your mare with us year-round and let us breed her and foal her out for you, in which case regular monthly boarding fees apply and the rates will depend on whether she is on full stall board or pasture board.

Phantom Training

In addition to our breeding services, we also offer phantom mare training to stallion owners. Each session lasts one week and the fee of $300 covers all of the following:

  • Stallion handling/training fee
  • All AI equipment used, including disposable AV liners, etc.
  • Semen evaluation
